The SpongeBob SquarePants series is never short of exciting villains whose evil actions have created a profound impact on the life of our favorite protagonist. The crazy, stupid, and funny characters play an impactful role in laying the foundation of this animated show. We have done something different this time and made a list of 11 Worst SpongeBob Villains of All Time.
Here are our top 11 worst SpongeBob Squarepants villains in the entire series.
Dennis is a deadly, sadistic, callous, fearless, dangerous, cruel, truculent, and notorious individual who holds an illegal occupation title and poses a threatening appearance. He is intimidating and even more brutal than most fish in the sea; he rips off the mouths of two hillbillies and brutally assaults the Thug Tug leader, Victor.
The Cyclops never takes off his scuba gear, even on land; possibly because he is too excited and hyperactive about selling knick-knacks or to scare sea creatures for fun. The anonymous, indefinite, and pseudonymous diver owns and works at the dreaded Shell City and is feared by all inhabitants of the sea, mainly because he looks extremely frightening and antipathetic, is gigantic compared to marine animals, captures them, and dries them out under a constantly burning desk lamp in Shell City to dry them out and turn them into “smelly knick-knacks”, that he can sell (as seen in the film). He is shown to be quite sadistic, as he laughs while menacing SpongeBob and Patrick.
Earworms are small worms that make themselves at home in one’s brain and play a recording of the song over and over again while enjoying it. The only way to get rid of them is to lure them out with “another catchy tune.” Otherwise, attempting to remove it manually could damage the victim’s brain. The Earworm got into SpongeBob by simply crawling through one of his holes. Sandy is the first to realize SpongeBob has it and says that Earworms can be dangerous. Mr. Krabs and Sandy attempt to help SpongeBob get rid of the Earworm; Mr. Krabs sings “High Seas Chant” and Sandy sings “Life on the Prairie,” but they both fail. Squidward actually plays a “catchy” song on his clarinet.
DoodleBob is a living two-dimensional drawing resembling SpongeBob SquarePants, appearing in the episodes “Frankendoodle” and “Doodle Dimension” and the video game Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants Edition. He is a crudely drawn caricature of SpongeBob that comes to life. He lacks many of SpongeBob’s specific details, such as SpongeBob’s belt, socks, shoes, holes, and the squiggly outline SpongeBob has.
FLATS THE FLOUNDER
Flats the Flounder is a recurring character in the first season of SpongeBob SquarePants and the main antagonist of the season 3 episode “The Bully”. He also makes cameo appearances in the sixth, eleventh, and twelfth seasons as well as the end credits of the SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. He is a flat kite-shaped light olive-green flounder who has sideways beige eyes. He wears a light orange, dark green shirt, and light reddish-brown pants. In his older appearances, his eyes were colored light yellow.
THE DIRTY BUBBLE
The Dirty Bubble is one of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy’s archenemies along with Man Ray. He first appears in the episode “Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II.” He is a giant, transparent, brown, dirty bubble, hence his name. He has black eyebrows and pupils. His eyes go above his head when surprised. He can capture an object by landing over it and sucking it in. Being a bubble, the Dirty Bubble has the ability to float and fly in the air. He can also trap his enemies inside of his body with his “awesome surface tension.”
The Flying Dutchman is a ghost who has a green glow around him, yellow eyes with black irises, a scraggly beard, a pirate hat with a chunk taken out, a handbag marked “Souls,” a droopy nose, a coat, little pigtails, and a ghostly tail. He speaks with a West Country pirate accent. During all of his appearances, the Flying Dutchman proves to be anything but a “friendly ghost.” Though his role in the series is to be the devil of the sea, he constantly varies from a sea demon to a restless soul or even as a psychopomp judge to the dead. The Flying Dutchman has been consistently shown to be gruff, malicious, and even downright sadistic, scaring people and stealing their souls out simply for fun, and in his first full appearance in “Scaredy Pants,” he attempts to steal the souls of everyone in the Krusty Krab simply because SpongeBob’s ridiculous costume as the Flying Dutchman was the ultimate insult to his image. The latter trait shows that he is extremely prideful.
“Mermaid Pants” is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season 10. In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick have fun playing as Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, and Mr. Krabs and Squidward decide to play along as the bad guys. SpongeBob and Patrick punch the trash and it lands on the customers and they leave angered. Mr. Krabs is angry that all his customers are gone and he calls Squidward into his office. He shows his secret room, with comic books, and also a suit that Krabs sewed up himself. Krabs then puts on the suit, called Captain Tightwad, with Squidward playing the doctor. Squidward is then seen watering his garden, who SpongeBob and Patrick think is raising mutant vegetables to attack. While Squidward goes to refill his water, SpongeBob and Patrick destroy Squidward’s garden, making a salad and eating it, which angers Squidward in the process. He breaks his legs in frustration, then loses his balance and falls down.
Man Ray also spelled Manray, is the greatest nemesis of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, alongside the Dirty Bubble. He first appears in the episode “Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III” and has also appeared in The Patrick Star Show. He is a great threat to Bikini Bottom. Man Ray possesses combat skills and seemingly has the power to shoot destructive lasers from his hands. He also has the ability to fully fly in some episodes. Man Ray is also a tactical genius, able to plan any scheme on-the-fly and during the crime. He also is physically able to remove his own head and throw it as a boomerang to attack enemies. He is also in peak form despite being nearly as old as Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
His full name is Sheldon J. Plankton, and he is one of the main SpongeBob super villains of the animated comedy television series SpongeBob SquarePants. Plankton persistently plots to steal the Krabby Patty formula together with his aware computer wife, Karen. They both run the profitless restaurant with the name Chum Bucket. His restaurant is located just across from Krusty Krab. Though he is the smallest character in the series, it doesn’t stop him from dreaming of stealing the formula to attain world domination.
DREADED PATRICK STAR
The Dreaded Patrick (known as The Bad Guy or Patrick) is the main antagonist of the SpongeBob SquarePants videogame Creature from the Krusty Krab in the level “Starfish Man To The Rescue”. He is a supervillain from Patrick’s dream who makes posters to attempt to recruit Bikini Bottom residents to work with him. Much like Patrick, Dreaded Patrick is dimwitted but is actually far more cunning, smarter, serious, and more sinister than the latter. Dreaded Patrick is also capable to formulate various evil plans as well. He was also quite proud of himself, as whenever he showed up, he had an urge to place a poster of himself, so that he may recruit new people for his army and/or to admire himself.
